Put Your Skills To Use and Help Others!

All of us have valuable skills that we may not realize because they are so a part of who we are. You can help someone else by offering them your skills as a favor or as a way to make some extra money. You would be amazed at the types of information that people are willing to pay for these days. You can create an e-book and sell it online to those that are interested in a particular skill that you have.

My friend and I recently swapped skills and it really helped both of us. She is very creative and I have always loved the way her home is decorated. Mine is very basic as I don’t really know were to start with home dйcor. She came over and pointed out a few good ideas and took me shopping. We worked together for a couple of weeks to incorporate the ideas and I am very impressed with the new look.

Her one shortcoming though is organization. She has piles of papers and things on her counter in the kitchen. I am very organized so it makes me cringe! She is forever having to pay late charges for bills because she forgets to send them in, and she even let her nursing license expire because she forgot to fill out the renewal paperwork.

I helped her to sort through all of the paperwork and get it categorized. We then made labels for files and neatly put them all away. We also made a book with her monthly bills listed so she can find out what she owes and when it is do. Some simple baskets helped to reduce the amount of clutter in her cabinets and drawers so she can find things much easier now.

Think about the skills you have and share them with others. It can be fun and you will learn to appreciate your skills more than you did before. If you are an excellent cook you can offer to teach a newlywed that is struggling to make a nice dinner at home. You can volunteer at a school to help with crafts if you enjoy working with children and have creative ideas.

You may have been complimented on many occasions for how well your pets behave. You can teach other people how to do the same thing for their pets. Maybe your plants and your garden provide beautiful flowers and you can assist those in your neighborhood with accomplishing the same results.

Regardless of how you plan to share your skills you can be sure there are people out there that need help. You can volunteer your skills, swap them with someone for a skill you are lacking, or you can sell your skills in order to generate some extra income. Everyone has some skills where they are experts and that is what makes us so unique. Use those skills to your advantage and everyone will benefit from it.

Management Training Tip – Seven ways to manage to your boss

Does the idea of managing your boss seem like a paradoxical concept? If it does, then think again. It is said that "if you do not manage your boss, the boss cannot manage you". Research shows that the main reason behind many employees quitting is because of the unhealthy relation that they share with their bosses. It is also said that people do not quit jobs, rather they quit their bosses. Sometimes the responsibilities bogging the managers down may make them forget that the people working under them are humans too. So, if you need to work in tandem, you have to get your relation with your boss straight. Still wondering how? Read on.

The kind of roles that the bosses play today is completely different from the kinds that they played in the days of yore. Responsibilities as well as priorities have undergone a sea-change. If you feel that your boss is a monster who refuses to listen to you and is hell-bent on making your life as difficult as it comes, you are not alone. Everyday, thousands of employees seek the services of counselors both inside the office as well as outside it. The most frequent complaints are extremely high stress levels due to bad relationships with bosses. People spend considerable amount of time in their offices. In fact, the better half of the day is spent there. If you do not share a rapport with your seniors and colleagues, you are making life difficult for everyone. Is there a way out of the catch-22 situation? Can you be productive yet share a healthy bonding with your senior? The answer, fortunately, is yes! All we need to do is follow some easy steps and keep in mind that when one thing goes out of hand, another is waiting for your approval. It does not mean that you indulge in job-hopping. It just means that with a little effort, things could be made better and peace can prevail. Managing your boss well so that he can manage you better is what is needed.

The following 7 tips will help you to manage your boss better:

1.     Never gossip with anybody about your boss.

Although gossiping about how cruel your boss is to your co-workers might seem to be best way to vent your frustration, trust me, it is not. Gossip has a tendency to leak. It gives away a very negative impression. Your boss will surely lose faith in you forever in case he gets to hear about this. You may end up jeopardising your future prospects in the company if you get labeled as a motor-mouth.

2.     Talk to him straight.

Rather than grumbling how much pressure you have on your shoulders, it is best to talk to him straight. Tell him what kind of work you would prefer. It might seem like a futile idea to begin with but this is the stepping stone to a mature and understanding relationship with your boss. Learn to respect the fact that your boss will never come to know what you want until you make it a point to tell him directly. However, do not be disheartened if the strategy does not work out from the beginning. Be patient.

3. Remain committed to your boss.

No matter how irritating a piece of work might seem, if you follow through as you are supposed to, you will win your boss's vote for sure. Remaining nonchalant and shrugging work are surefire signs of getting into your boss's mental "non-working workers" chart. It is in the best interests of every body if people start co-operating and working towards the company's goals rather than harboring petty rivalries.

3.     Provide solutions and not problems.

Instead of constantly hounding your boss with umpteen problems, try providing solutions sometimes. This will help bolster faith in you. No one likes to be served with a platter of problems everyday. A work well done is definitely your credit so try and solve as much as you possibly can on your very own.

4.     Be attentive.

Remember that your boss has more experience and does actually know more than you do. Learn to listen to his advice and act out accordingly. Never start office with a notion that the boss's job is to make your life hell. He is just doing his job by being harsh on you. Meeting the company's goals is his responsibility and not doing so lends him a bad name. Respect him as well as his advice.

5.     Find out what your boss prefers.

While some may like written reports, some may favor to talk it out straight. Find out what he likes and value his preferences. Contrary to popular belief, constantly rubbing him the wrong way is not how you should go about it. Every work place has a culture that must be respected and adhered to. Presenting reports in a manner he prefers helps you in the long run.

7. Remember that your boss is human.

A job at the top end of the spectrum is lonely and wrought with responsibilities. Forgive your boss for being cranky at times. He too, after all, is human.

How to Make Money with the Reverse Funnel System?

There’s not to much to this… the Reverse Funnel System makes you money, bottom line.  But it is a system, albeit a very profitable system, but a system to say the least.

That means the system needs you to drive traffic into the system.  Without a person manning it all the system will is just sit there.  But if you spend your time submitting articles, posting to blogs, spending time on myspace marketing, and everything out there that there is on the internet to drive traffic into your system then it becomes successful.

All the reverse funnel system is…is an automated sales process that closes people into your business for you automatically.  Ty Coughlin and the inner circle hired VERY expensive copy writers, and web conversion experts to design the system.  It is a brilliant system.

But you are the fuel that feeds the system.  Get out there, start working and start generating traffic and if takes two weeks, three weeks for the traffic to really start coming along, don’t get down on your self, think positively because if the traffic is there, the money is there.  The conversion rates with this system are mind blowing, because the system works.

You make money with the reverse funnel system by driving traffic to your copy of the system and the system does the rest.

I have had very good results in the reverse funnel system, but like I said before if your first two weeks produce nothing you don’t have to worry about it.  I didn’t sell a single paid survey let alone a full GRN membership.  But before the end of my first month I had almost 20,000 dollars in commissions and thus can only expect  this to expand in the future.

The system works when you work it.  If you’re out there marketing and driving traffic the system will be out there making you money.  And that’s the bottom line to making money with the Reverse Funnel System.

So, I’m a Control Freak

Yep, that’s right, I admit it – I’m a control freak.  I wonder if there’s a 12-step program for that.  I wanted to bring this issue up as a benefit to all of those poor people out there (virtual assistants especially) who work for people like me.  And for the benefit of all of my partners in making the misery – my fellow control freaks.

Being a control freak isn’t as bad as it sounds.  You just have to realize where your limits are and of course, it’s best if you can admit it so that you can begin to deal with it.  And if you’re working with or for a control freak, you just need to know how to deal with us.  Really, it is possible to overcome some of your control-freakishness and it is possible to work with us.

I’m going to wager that most control freaks are A-type personalities (or if you prefer to talk in terms of D.I.S.C. profiles - high Ds).  That’s not all bad.  It means we’re the ones who put ourselves out there on a daily basis, are driven, and make the world go ‘round.  We’re also very task oriented (e.g. get it done!).  We’re usually very successful and we don’t give up until we’ve got what we want and then some.

So how did I get over my freakish side?  Well, I didn’t and I don’t know if you ever really can – it’s part of who you are.  What I have done though is learn how to tame it so others can live with/around me.  So how do I handle my freakish side?  For one, I like lists.  I make lists like you wouldn’t believe.  Here a list, there a list, everywhere a list list.  In fact, I’d be happy make a list for you now.

Tips to overcoming a little of the control freak in you:

1)     It always makes me feel better, when giving instructions to someone, to write it all down.  Every last detail of how I want whatever it is done.  Then I feel that nothing is or will be missed.

2)     Make your instructions clear and to the point.  This should give you piece of mind that whomever you are delegating tasks to understands what you want done and how you want it done.

3)     Take it one step further and have your virtual assistant repeat back those instructions.  This is your assurance that s/he understands what you’re after and will help you trust him/her more.

4)     Learn to trust.  Okay, maybe not the first time you delegate a task to someone new.  But certainly, after that person has successfully completed the tasks you delegated, and completed them to your wishes, you really CAN begin to let go and trust that they’ll do it “correctly” each and every time.

5)     Write it down.  Write it ALL down!  I’ve found that writing everything down helps me feel more like I’m in control so that freakish side doesn’t need to bare itself to the world quite so much.  Take notes on your phone conversations, list out what you need to accomplish, write your instructions out, and so on.

6)     Learn to let go.  Really.  Other people CAN do things as well as you can and sometimes even better – even if they’re not an A-type, High-D, control freak!

7)     Find a complimentary assistant.  Find someone who is good at and enjoys the things you hate.

Working with a control freak:

1)     Realize that we can’t help it.

2)     Realize that we do our best to overcome.

3)     Ask us for a list of what we need to have done.

4)     Ask us HOW we’d like things done.

5)     Write it down for us.  If we give you a whole bunch of random stuff that needs to be done, write it down and email that list back to us.  This way we can look it over, change our minds, add, and subtract and send it back to you.

6)     Ask us questions about what we want and how we want it before we flit off on another subject.  Keep asking until you have enough information from us to understand what we want.

7)     Do what you say you are going to do.  Nothing makes us run away faster than not doing what you say you are going to do.

8)     We have to be able to trust you.  You need to be honest EVERY time – even if it means telling us what you think we don’t want to hear.

These tips should help you, the control freak, overcome that freakish side and for those of you working with us, maybe this will make it easier. We control freaks really aren’t as scary as it may seem.

Accounting Classes

In fact, chances are that you’ll notice evidence of your expanded understanding of accounting and financial management in various ways almost as soon as you apply the new knowledge and methodology.

You don’t have to earn a four year degree in accountancy in order to expand your knowledge of accounting in meaningful and productive ways. If you want to make accountancy your profession, you would do well to invest your time and resources into a two or four year degree program.

If you’re serious about educating yourself about financial accounting in order to manage an organization that you participate in you may also find that a two year degree program is worth your time and effort. There are, however, many community college and leisure learning classes that may fit your schedule and budget to a tee.

If you live near a community college, visit the campus or website and find out more about the types of accounting classes that are offered. If you don’t see the information that you’re looking for, don’t hesitate to ask questions about the curriculum or to seek advice about what types of accounting classes will meet your learning goals.

Particularly if you live in a larger city, there are many learning centers and organizations that offer classes on all kinds of things from sushi making to kayaking, CPR and accounting. Many times these types of classes are the most feasible type of education because sessions last from one day to a few weeks long so participants can fit them into their schedules. Additionally, accounting classes from these smaller learning organizations will cost less than college degree programs.

Take a look online and ask around about local accounting classes. If you’re looking for a quick solution, there are also some online courses if you enjoy self-paced learning. Take your time to research tuition for online schools, as many of them have rates that are much higher than others.

Business Opportunity Ideas for the Stay-at-Home Mom

As a stay-at-home mom, you might be seeking employment or business opportunities that enable you to earn a full-time or part-time income from home. Maybe you'd like to work flexible hours, stay home with your children, or avoid high gasoline and car maintenance costs. Whatever the reason, there are many opportunities online today that can help you achieve your goals and earn some extra cash.

Three Options for a Home-Based Business

There are three ways to approach a home business. You can offer products of your own such as clothing, crafts, hair supplies, books, or herbal supplements, build your own website, and stock your own inventory. Unfortunately, this takes much time to build and requires a start-up investment. If you want to offer your own product line, be prepared to wait a while for profits. But keep in mind that this option can be the most profitable for the future if you stick with it.

Another option is to offer a unique service such as accounting or bookkeeping, answering services, Web development or programming, business consulting, or writing. Offering a service has benefits over selling tangible products because you only charge for your "time and skills" but not to restock inventory.

A third option is to sell products or services for others and earn a commission on your sales. This works great if you have limited time to work on your business and need to spend most of your time promoting. This option can be just as profitable as having your own home business without the many headaches of business management.

Types of Business Opportunities when Selling for Others

Though time and space doesn't permit discussion of all business opportunities here, let's take a look at several possibilities. Beauty products are a popular choice for ladies. Most women love to try out new skin creams, lotions, soaps, makeup, and lip glosses. Because you can try out the beauty products yourself, you are more informed on how well they work and how to persuade others to buy them. Some companies offer tremendous compensation when you sell their beauty products for them. They'll even provide a website for you with all of their products and a shopping cart for your customers to make purchases.

Another type of product that's popular is clothing. Clothing is very general, so you'll want to focus in on one particular style or line of clothing. Find a "niche" market within the clothing industry that you can promote to certain types of people. Online, it's easier to promote to small niche markets instead of trying to promote to a general audience.

Tech support is another much-needed field that's often ignored by mainstream companies. There are business opportunities today that enable you to promote tech support services to the public and receive a healthy commission. The tech support services are all provided by the company online, but you reap the benefits. Your audience is broad because so many people own computers today... and need help with them!

Other business opportunity ideas include health supplements, educational training products and online education, kitchenware, furniture, household products, pet products, and home and garden products.

Whether you choose to start your own business or sell products for someone else, you can use the Internet to achieve your goals and still be a content stay-at-home mom!

Take the Spotlight to Get the Best Retail Jobs

Although there is a high demand for employees throughout the retail industry, the best jobs go to those applicants who shine. Whether you are already doing retail work and want to take advantage of additional retail opportunities, searching for your first retail job, or transitioning from another field into a retail career, here are tips to ensure that you take center stage during your all-important interview.

Spruce Up Your Resume

Your resume speaks volumes when it comes to first impressions. Make sure that, whenever possible, you quantify your accomplishments. Saying that you "doubled the average number of units per sale" is more impressive than saying you "contributed to an increase in sales." If you have retail experience, be specific about the types of companies for which you have worked and they type of work you have done. Simply listing your employers and job titles doesn't communicate your full range of skills or specialties. If you have retail experience, be sure to emphasize that in your resume.

Know the Company and Its Products

Before you even apply for a job, you should gather information about the company and have knowledge of its products. You can gather this information on the Internet and by visiting a store location. Before your interview, conduct additional research. This will enable you to answer specific questions with authority and help put you at ease. If you are among the many who transition to jobs in retail from another industry, your knowledge of the company's products (even from the viewpoint of a consumer) can give you a competitive edge.

Highlight Your Flexibility and Commitment

If you can be flexible in the hours you work, be sure to mention it in your cover letter and during your interview. The nature of store jobs is such that employers have retail opportunities from early morning to late evening. For some types of retail work, retail opportunities exist literally 24 hours per day. Similarly, if you are able to work longer hours during the store's busy season, state that during your interview. Flexibility and commitment are especially powerful for those who are getting their first mall jobs or transitioning into retail.

New to Retail? Highlight Strong Skill Sets

Just because you're new to retail jobs, there's no reason to be intimidated. The skills you develop at other jobs, through volunteer work, or in school are some of the same skills you will need for retail. While you're working on your resume, and definitely before your interview, think about the ways in which you've developed customer service skills, communication skills, teambuilding skills, organizational skills, or other talents required for the position to which you're applying.

Find the Perfect Fit

Whether you're looking for part-time store jobs or a full-time retail career, it's important to find the right fit. Just because a job is available doesn't mean that it's the right job for you. There are online job sites that specialize in retail jobs, and that will provide you with a range of retail opportunities in your geographic area. These sites are a great place to find the job that is a perfect fit with your needs, interests, and skills.
